Starting Over!!!
So, I haven’t been eating or exercising good at all. I keep using the excuse that there’s been so much going on in the family…lots of people in the hospital, sick at home, and even a death. But the truth is that if I had really wanted to eat healthy and exercise during all of it, I could have. It may have been hard and added more stress, but I could have done it. I just let the emotions and stress I was feeling take control.

Thanks to a drs. visit, I came out of the fog and into the bright blinding fact that my health has gone down quite a bit due to my lack of interest in my own body/health. Sad (or more like stupid) isn’t it? My A1C went from 6.1 to 10.? I kinda went blank after I heard 10.

So… I’ve spent the last few days online trying to come up with a meal plan that will give me the best foods I can eat with the lowest carb count.  I’m going back to the basics, eating mainly low carb veggies and fruit with some fish or lean meat thrown in.

As far as exercise:
Everyday:
1-3 miles on the treadmill
deep breathing
balance/stretching

A few times a week:
qi-gong or tai chi
dumbells, band or kettle bell dvd
recumbent bike, step dvd or Leslie Sansone dvd

Plus, now that the weather’s not so humid, I hope to start riding my bike or walk by the river at least once a week.

I read that every month you should take 3 consecutive days off to allow the body to recover and rebuild.

This is going to be hard, but I have to do it.

HAVE TO!

Starting Weight: 159.5
Current Weight: 159.5
Goal Weight: 130

Question:
What are your biggest struggles to get fit and healthy?
